Wii Music Detailed at E3
Posted by Jason Townsend-Rogers, 44 days ago Jul 15, 2008 15:27

For anyone who has always wanted to learn the nuances of instruments but lacked the time or dedication, Nintendo has you covered with the latest iteration of their Wii-centric line-up of games, a collection that includes games such as Wii Sports and Wii Fit.

Titled Wii Music, this game was demoed by famed designer Shigeru Miyamoto at this year’s E3 Media & Business Summit. Unlike other music-based experiences that encourage precision timing, Wii Music allows players to manipulate the Wiimote as you would a real instrument and correspond with the notes that are displayed.

The game features over 50 instruments, including piano, sax, drum set, and guitar, while allowing players to cooperate with one another to form bands; should players choose this option, they can perform with up to six instruments at a time. For those not proficient with drums, a lessons feature is included.

The Wii Balance Board is expected to be integrated into Wii Music, though thus far that feature has been regulated to just the drums. Players will also have the option of saving parts of their songs and combining them to make music videos.

Look for Wii Music to deliver harmonious melodies to Nintendo fans by the end of this year.
